Measuring And Fitting

1. Chest: soft tape around the widest part of the ribcage, just behind the front legs, with your dog standing.
2. Neck: around the base of the neck, where the harness straps will sit.
3. Add 2–3 cm to both before comparing to the chart - that's a comfortable fit rather than a tight one.

To put it on: lay the harness flat on the floor with the buckle open and the two loops forming a figure of eight. Walk your dog forward so each front paw goes into a loop, lift the straps up over the ribs, and fasten the buckle along the back. Adjust until two fingers slide comfortably under any strap, then check it hasn't shifted after the first minute of walking.

Hand wash in cool water with mild detergent and air dry away from direct heat - machine washing cracks the buckle and heat weakens webbing. Rinse after beach walks; salt and sand work into the sliders and stiffen them. Wipe the chrome hardware dry rather than leaving it wet, and check the stitching around the D-ring every few weeks.

Will this stop my dog pulling?
Honestly - no, and be sceptical of any back-clip harness that claims otherwise. The leash attaches between the shoulders, which is the same geometry sled dogs pull from. What it does do is make pulling far safer, because the force lands on the chest instead of the throat. Is a collar included?
No. The set is a harness and a matching leash. Small dogs generally still need a collar for their ID tag - just walk them on the harness rather than the collar.

Can my dog escape from it?
A correctly adjusted step-in harness is secure for most dogs. It is not a specialist escape-proof design though, so for a determined backwards-reversing escape artist, look at a harness with a second girth strap instead.

Is it strong enough for a bigger dog?

Does the colour fade?
